The consistent thread distribution at the edges of the tire cord in both dip and hot stretching lines and just before the infeed gap into the calender is decisive for the final quality of the product.

Function edge spreading system

Edge spreading system consisting of two spreading units, each with a three-finger roller setup. Two rigid rollers are in permanent contact with the tire cord. The moving stretch roll engages more or less heavily into the edge area of the tire cord. A change in the bite angle changes the width of the tire cord.
